"The applications this year were of a very high quality, making the judging process difficult. I would like to congratulate you on becoming a South West finalist! The National Apprenticeship Awards recognise the achievements of extraordinary apprentices, the businesses that employ them, and the individuals that champion apprenticeships."

Jacob De la Croix

Senior Engineer

I joined AWP on a permanent basis after previously working here for a 'Year in Industry' as part of my degree and a summer placement!

During this time I have been studying Civil Engineering at Loughborough University for my undergraduate degree and Exeter University for my Masters. During my placements I enjoyed working with Chris in the flood risk team and now I am working with Pete in the infrastructure design team.

I am from Exeter, living here since I was 7 and it is great being back in the South West since my time away at university. In my free time I enjoy playing and watching many sports with football being my favourite. I am also a Leicester fan – believe it or not I actually supported them before they won the Premier League! Additionally, I enjoy playing squash and tennis as well as going on walks in the Devon countryside.
