Tom Gilbert

Engineer

I have countless memories and had some great times as an undergraduate student at Plymouth University, however after 5 long years of studying and numerous pints later, I felt ready to start a new life as a freshly graduated Civil Engineer, and thusly my career at AWP began!

I completed my industrial placement year in Cardiff back in 2016 working for a design and construction partnership company (JN Bentley and Mott MacDonald) delivering Waste Water Treatment Plants and associated drainage networks. I also undertook a summer placement for a local construction company in Plymouth in between my final 2 years to further my knowledge and site experience.

Originally from a small coastal village near Brighton, I have always been attracted to the coastline and have never wanted to be anywhere else. I am a keen sportsman, and although football will always be my one true love, I will always attempt to play anything and everything, including claiming to surf. Music is also a large part of my life too, besides being a massive fan of live music, I play piano and guitar and love a good ole sing in the shower…obviously!

I am part of the infrastructure team at AWP in Exeter and as well as looking forward to working with Rodin, I am also excited to work with the rest of the company and, of course, have some fun too.
