Our Apprentices at AWP are encouraged to progress onto higher level study and benefit hugely from support and guidance from Apprentice Alumni within the business. I grew up in South Africa and moved to the UK to study for my Doctorate at the University of Southampton. I am now settled in our self-build eco house in a small village near Exeter with my husband and daughter.

Previously, I have worked in transport and rail infrastructure before specialising in soil mechanics. I obtained my PhD, doing advanced soil laboratory testing, and continued to gain experience as a researcher at the University of Bath looking at weather driven deterioration of clay slopes. I have joined AWP to gain more industry experience in drainage and planning and to further my career towards chartership.

In my spare time I enjoy being outside exploring the countryside with my daughter and gardening. I also enjoy baking, sewing, or playing boardgames when the weather is not so good!
