"Alex is an extremely efficient consultant and never needs to be chased, and he has a rare gift which is frequently lacking in many Engineers . . .a problem solving mindset rather than a problem highlighting mind. Alex played a lead role in a recent successful Planning Public Inquiry, helping to resolve infrastructure concerns and most importantly, aiding a massive reduction in the Section 106 contributions that were being sought from the scheme."

2024 Summer Placements

05/08/24

Welcome to Charles, Laurie and Maya, our three AWP summer placement students!

Charles joins Team Drainage: "I was born and raised in Nigeria, a wonderfully multicultural and diverse country. After spending most of my life there, I pursued my undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering at the University of Exeter. Having recently completed my degree, I joined AWP in June 2024 and will be spending my summer working with the drainage team. In my free time, I enjoy playing football and am an avid Arsenal fan."

Laurie joins one of our Development Infrastructure Teams: "I am working at AWP over the summer period with a fantastic team allowing me to gain an insight into the engineering problems that come about within the development planning industry to further my professional development and engineering knowledge. Outside of work I have sporting interests of Sailing and Rugby, the former of which I am excited about taking advantage of being near the coast throughout the summer."

Maya joins another one of our Development Infrastructure Teams: "I've just finished my first year studying Engineering at the University of Warwick and am excited to be joining AWP this summer as a part of Simon's team. I'm looking forward to learning new skills and getting some industry experience. Having lived in Exeter pretty much all my life, I'm happy to be back home, once again close to Dartmoor and the coast. Outside of uni and work, I enjoy hiking and swimming, hockey, listening to music and spending time with friends."

We warmly welcome them aboard and hope they enjoy their placements with us.
