Fremington - Permission granted on appeal. After a two stage planning inquiry at which Ianwas cross examined on his highways evidence for over 3 hours by 2 barristers, planning inspector David Wildsmith granted consent for the development of 277 dwellings together with associated infrastructure at the former army camp, Fremington.

Cornwall Council granted Planning Permission for 126 residential dwellings and 1,175m2 of employment space, as well as provision of retail and business space atPorthpean Road, St Austell. We are now cracking on with the detailed highway and drainage design.

We all went to watch Somerset's first T20 match of the season. Excellent weather. Excellent match, with Somerset winning in the last over. And excellent hospitality; the free bar took a bit of a hammering.

Some bad news (for us): Jason Huxham has decided to move to Bristol to set up home there. He will be missed by the team here, but we send him on his way with our best wishes.

Some good news: We've taken on Jake Richardsas a Technical Assistant. As withGavinand Matt, we will sponsor his HNC day release training at Exeter College. Welcome on board Jake!
