Planning for the future

10/08/20

The government issued its planning reform White Paper last week and the cover star was Tregunnel Hill, in Newquay.

Which made us reminisce a little.

A number of years ago, we were asked to help resolve a knotty drainage problem for this site. We managed to secure EA and Cornwall Council approval and the scheme was built out and subsequently won numerous national and international awards.

Building on that work, we developed an excellent working relationship with the Duchy of Cornwall and the regional housebuilders delivering this scheme, which grew into long-standing appointments for Poundbury in Dorset and Nansledan in Cornwall.

Through our work with the Duchy and their architects, we have provided engineering input into masterplans for numerous other new developments across the country.

Our expertise in development planning and this has recently been recognised nationally when we were shortlisted for the ‘Excellence in Concept Design and Planning’ category in the NCE 100 Awards 2020.

. . . and . . . we're training the next generation of engineers and technicians with the skills required to help deliver beautiful and sustainable places that the White Paper's new planning system seeks to deliver.
