"This was our first project with AWP and won’t be our last. Their experienced transport planners, highway and infrastructure engineers showed great commercialism and integrity throughout a protracted application preparation process due to a host of planning issues arising."

Creedy Bridge, Crediton

Mid Devon

We've recently submitted an outline application for a large development on the northern edge of Crediton.

Working closely with Barton Willmore, for client Gleeson Developments, we prepared a Transport Assessment and Flood Risk Assessment to support the outline application. The proposed scheme includes 257 dwellings, up to five gypsy and traveller pitches, 8.6 ha of land for the relocation of Crediton Rugby Club and a new primary school to serve the northern side of the town. The rugby club will submit their own application in due course for a new clubhouse and car parking in addition to new pitches and training facilities.

We have had a long association with this scheme (it is job number 29 and we are have recently set up job 750) having helped support the allocation of the site for the landowners over 10 years ago while at WSP. Our transport and flood risk teams, led by Alex and Chris respectively, undertook extensive consultation with the local residents and their elected representatives to address offsite issues. We also provided advice on utilities supply to the new development and most recently have undertaken an earthworks analysis to optimise the layout on the steeper part of the site.
