I am Exeter born and bred and live on the outskirts of Exeter in East Devon with my wife and three young children.

Whilst I enjoy playing 5-a-side myself, my sons are both naturally more talented than me on the pitch so I enjoy watching them play grassroots football for local teams. Besides the busy family life I am an armchair football fan and also follow Exeter Chiefs and enjoy getting to a few home games when I can. I commute to work via a cycle ride and am also a dedicated gym goer where I enjoy relaxing with a lunchtime session of blood, sweat and tears battling against the iron.

Prior to AWP I had spent the previous 13 years working for Babtie Group (latterly Jacobs) and WSP and have been fortunate enough to have worked on a broad variety of schemes during that time. I spent 7 years working for WSP in its Exeter office as a design technician, latterly progressing into project management. Through my time with WSP and now AWP I have worked on a variety of schemes from the planning stage. However, my predominant role is in the undertaking of detailed design associated with residential schemes and their associated works and achieving the necessary sectional agreements (S38, S278, S104 etc.) for private sector clients, where I head-up one of the 3 Development Infrastructure teams in AWP.

The experience from working in design offices for over 21 years has helped me to attain professional membership of the ICE as a Technician Member, where I am now currently on the path to pursue becoming Chartered. I have an active role in the development of the junior members of the team acting and recently became a mentor with the ICE to support colleagues working towards attaining their EngTech professional qualification.

I’m fortunate enough to have been part of AWP since the beginning and have enjoyed the evolution of the business and relish being part of the AWP family as we continue to evolve.
