"We were delighted with the Flood Risk Assessment work and report carried out by AWP. Their approach has been pragmatic and effective, discussing the approach with the EA ahead of the work to minimise the risk of rework being required. The final report was professional, simple and exactly what was required to address both planning requirements and the real operational issue. Thanks very much to Rob, Annabel and the team."

Work seems to be progressing well on a number of our sites at the moment. Exeter Cricket Club's new pavilion (above) was handed over to the club by contractor Midas to enable fit out in advance of the start of the season. The neighbouring student accommodationblock is also nearing completion ready for this year's student intake.

Petewas on site the other day finalising details for our appointment to undertake the infrastructure design for the next stage of Sherfordand was impressed by the progress made over this wet winter. Further west into Cornwall, AWP job number 0001 (we set up 0513 today) Porthpean Road, St Austellis now into its third phase and finally for this round of job updates, Strathmore Houseis looking fantastic on site. If you are anywhere near Dorchester in the autumn, we'd thoroughly recommend a visit to Queen Mother's Square in Poundburyto see the completed works.

Although we always seem to be uber-busy, we always try and make room for smaller projects for regional clients. One such scheme which was a little out of the ordinary was helping the Ultimate Adventure Centredischarge a drainage design planning condition to enable them to expand their site in time to accommodate this summer's visitors.

And finally for this month, it's time to dust off the DJ again as we have been shortlisted for both the 2016 Michelmores Property Awardsin the Professional Firm of the Year category and also the Exeter Living Awardsin the Professional Services category. The two awards ceremonies will be held over the next couple of months, so you'll have to wait a while for photos of us trying to look pleased for the eventual deserving winners.
