"We appreciated Rob and his team's local knowledge and contacts with the EA, SWW and Torbay Council. They quickly got up to speed on a complicated brownfield redevelopment and integrated seamlessly into our existing project team."

Torbay

The former Nortel / Bookham site (now known as Devonshire Park) situated at the junction of Brixham Road and Long Road in Torbay has lain vacant for many years. After extensive discussions with Torbay Council officers and the local community, it is now proposed to redevelop the brownfield site, which covers an area of almost 10ha, with a mixed use scheme.

We undertook a Flood Risk Assessment to support an outline planning application for approximately 250 dwellings, 5,500sqm B1/B8 economic development uses, 8,500sqm retail floorspace along with a garden centre with related access roads, servicing and landscaping.

The image above is taken from the indicative masterplan and sets out how the retail units could look when viewed from the proposed new access from Long Road.

We were pleased to see Torbay Council grant outline planning permission for this scheme to come forward.
